I have (2) 7290's and I want to get all the numbers off one and install on the other.

Just to get you up to speed here. Currently there on the phone and not the sim phone book (on both) so I don't know if I need to transfer to sim card and then install sim card out of #1 phone and then put it in #2 phone.

I tried to do a backup to my home computer on the phone with the numbers but kept getting a error saying that it was set for wireless synchonization. disabled on phone with no results so I figured I would try the sim card deal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes that should work. Although I usually had some formating problem when I have done that. Like the phone number or address fields getting switched around. i.e. Fax number in the cell phone field etc. Since you are going from BB to BB you may not have this issue.


I do not do the wireless sync so I am not 100% on this, but I believe this is disabled by default with the USB cable, and can only be done though the BlackBerry service. The phone companies usually disable any features that do not use their network and let them charge you more.

So go the SIM route. You could also try taking it back to the store you bought it and ask them to transfer the data for you. I believe Cingular and Verizon both do this even if the old phone is from another carrier.

Why not sync one to outlook or one of the other supported PIMs?
