Default Hard Reset + Contacts/notes questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone,

I'm selling my 8700g on eBay, and I have purshased an 8800 from Rogers. Can someone tell me how to hard reset my 8700G so that none of my information is in it? (Also, this won't remove the fact that it's unlocked, will it?)

Also, is there any way to keep all of my contacts/notes so that when I get my 8800 I won't have to re-add them all? I likley won't have the 8700 and 8800 at the same time, so is there any way to do this over Desktop Manager?

Thanks!

Donload Jl_Cmder (it's in my sig) wipe the device..... (EVERYTHING IS GONE)

Make sure you have Desktop Manager and Handheld OS installed on the PC...

After the wipe the BB will boot to a white screen, Plug it in and open DeskTop Manager then Application Loader and install the OS....

It's now ready to sell and will *NOT* effect the unlock.......

Nope..... If you want all data gone where next user can't see then this is it....

You can wipe from the BB but I would never do that if selling it.... it's is the season to steal identity.....

Use desktop manager to make a backup of your 8700. When your 8800 arrives restore the information to the new device. To clear all the data, goto Options > Security Options > General Settings > Wipe Handheld. This will revert your BB back to factory new condition. Nothing you can do will effect the locked\unlocked condition of the device.
