I can't seem to find any Blackberry programs to interface with home automation software. I assume there aren't any? There is so many different kinds of of home automation with no standards that I can see why there are none but I sure would like to have this. I am building a house and I am willing to go with any system to make this work.

It would sure be nice if we had an application that we could access with one click. Then within that application do various tasks. Ideally the blackberry would function similar to a remote only through the internet instead of infrared.

To me it seems like it would not be too difficult to do but what do I know? I am sure there are a lot of blackberry users that would love to be able to do this as well.

If you are just now building a house, I'd suggest you set up a lights system and hook up everything you want to be controlled to some kind of a controller that supports IP (e.g. either a card on your PC or a separate controller.) You can find these stand-alone controllers for about $200-300 maybe even cheaper. Most of them have some kind of a web interface. You can either directly connect with your BB to it or have another device (like a free fonera router, with linux installed that you have your own scripts in a BB-friendly WAP page.

If you don't have everything hooked up while you're building the house, it
would be very ugly to have it all set up afterwards.
