Default What's Service Pack 2 for the Blackberry Desktop Manager

Please Login to Remove!

I looked somewhere that the Service Pack 2 for the Blackberry Desktop Manager solved many of the common problems with application loading. What's its version, 4.0.0.33 or 4.0.0.30?

On Blackberry website, http://www.blackberry.com/products/s...op/index.shtml

BlackBerry Desktop Software installs and runs on your desktop PC. It manages the link between your BlackBerry handheld and your email account. This integrated suite of applications provides the following:

>> Powerful Message Filtering - BlackBerry Desktop Software's advanced filtering engine gives you complete control over your email. Limit the number of messages you receive on your BlackBerry handheld by setting filters that monitor key words and message fields including From:, To:, Cc:, Bcc:, Subject: and message body.
>> Synchronization - BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes contacts, appointments, tasks and email between your handheld and desktop.
Load Handheld Applications - BlackBerry Desktop Software enables you to load new applications and upgrades from your PC to the handheld.
>> Folder Management Tools - BlackBerry Desktop Software gives you the option to file or delete your email directly from your handheld.
>> Information Backup Utilities - BlackBerry Desktop Software allows you to backup any important information from the handheld to your PC or restore previously-saved files back to your handheld.
>> Auto Signature - BlackBerry Desktop Software allows you to create an auto signature to be included in the body of your outgoing mail messages sent from your handheld and desktop.

I can't find sync email and Folder Management Tools in BlackBerry Desktop Software installed on PC. Who know why? While installing it, select international email not BES mail. Version is 4.0.0.30.

There is no service pack 2 for Desktop Manager. The latest version of Desktop Manager is v4.0.0.33, available at http://www.blackBerry.com

Not sure what you are talking about....

Actually - SP1 for the Desktop Manager was just posted on 5/6/2005.

The version number is 4.0.1.10 (Apr 27 2005). Link is provided below.

I have not had a chance to test it yet, but I will try to post any findings as soon as I have them.

Thumbs up

SP1 seems to have fixed my sync issues. Desktop manager used to crash consistently with Microsoft error trying to sync calendar. There are lots of references to this type of problem on the forums. So far, so good. Would be nice to just sync without having to repair .OST files, change profiles etc.
