I just wanted to post my first impressions on TeleNav for the BB. You can only use it with the BB 7520 through Nextel as it uses the GPS capabilities.

Installation was easy, you add the program through the Application Loader just like any other program (there is no way for OTA that I could see but that may change). Setup was also easy, you give them your credit card number and they start billing you after 30 days. You do get the first 30 days free.

I must say this is the best program I have ever used for the BB!!! There are many different ways of entering your destination in and they all worked extremely well, even the automated operator to call in your destination.

What really impressed me was how Telenav responded when you took a wrong turn. It recalculates a route and gets you back on schedule quite quickly.

Anyway, all you 7520 owners, check it out! Its well worth it.

Have you read my posting yet? I have had Telenav a long time and I have also enjoyed it. Have you tried getting an address for a destination from your blackberry address book yet?

Here is the steps to get it.
Start up Telenav of course.
Click Real-time GPS Navigation
click Address Book in the Destination List.
click on that.

That is where my issue starts.
I have gotten the following error message.
UNCAUGHT EXCEPTION: PROCESS TELENAV(97) KILLED DUE TO MESSAGE QUEUE OVERFLOW.

Let me know what happens when you do. I have already forwarded the info to Telenav and Customer Service told me they don't have any training yet and don't support it until May 2, 2005 supposedly.

The steps you mentioned do work for me. There was a little pause before it populated the address list, about 5 seconds. It worked fine for me but I wonder if your problem lies in how many contacts you have. I have about 200 in my BB so I guess that is what is taking the time.

Thanks for the info on Telenav. I am interested to know if Telenav works in Canada? I emailed them that question the other day and they have not responded.

Let me ask my dad, I know he has been there. I was able to get Nextel to give my dad back cash for charging him for international two ways when he was just so close to Canada he was picking up off a Telus Tower.

As for the Address Book, I have 3,097 names in it. So yeah I can see where I am getting the problem. But Telenav should have some knowledge as to how many you can have. I will find out.

Wow, there is your answer. If mine takes 5 seconds to load 200 names then you are looking at a minute and 17 seconds (if it were to actually work) ...

I am sure they can find a fix for this somehow though. Keep up posted!

TeleNav presently times out when it takes longer than 30 seconds to load more than about 1000 addresses, and then there is event queue overflow. A future release will fix this.

Unfortunately Telenav will not work in Canada :( The application uses TCP...when I roamed onto TELUS, I lost connection to Telenav server. The compass still works, but not navigation or biz finder.
