Default Sync messages with Outlook (not push or live)

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought a blackberry 7105t and I am not ready to use the BES or the Blackberry Internet Service (too expensive...).

Similar to when I had my old palm - I am only looking to sync my outlook to my BB with my messages. I do not need a live or push of any new ones, but I would like them to download to my BB once I sync.

I have installed the Desktop Manager and I can sync all of my tasks, appointments and calendar and all of my e-mail folders are present (which is GREAT), but with no e-mails in them. Also the folders have all been duplicated within my BB.

Are there any programs so I can just sync with outlook without starting a server or registering for a BIS? Once again... I am lookin to sync like palm software only.

Many thanks!

Stais

Not possible AFAIK. The only way to sync email between the BB and Outlook is with BES. You can send and receive using BIS, but not sync.

Either option requires a BB dataplan.

Sorry Sho-off, as Dubdub and trevor1189 indicated it is not possible.

OK... thanks guys.

BTW.. I JUST found this forum and it is absolutely outstanding. Very professional and helpful. I can't wait to really dive into the learning process...

And I must also say - I am very surprised that someone hasn't already developed a non-live sync program for the BB's...

Blackberries do not sync email. Even if you're on BES mail doesn't sync. You get two-way reconciliation but it's not the same as syncronization.

There is, Desktop Manager. Syncs all but e-mail.

The BB is all about mobile e-mail. Offline sync of mail would defeat the purpose.

A very complicated way of doing it would be to set up a simulator on a system running the ESS then backup the message store on it and restore them on to the device when you wanted.

I'm guessing that 95% of that would be over your head, so I really can't recommed it as it's quite complicated and not a very clean solution.
