I had a question regarding verichat. Seeings how I will be hopefully using it a lot, is it that great of a messenger? I mean I don't see many people using it right now, because everybody who has their AIM posted in their contact, I go to IM them and they are not on.

I just wonder if it its all that great as maybe the Sidekick AIM and what not.

People who use verichat, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Aim on sidekick is better than on blackberry. I tried a couple of im programs on blackberry, the problems are mainly battery life (if you leave it on all day) and connection drops, although i have to admit i never used the sidekick phone. So I am not sure what would happen to the connection if you used the phone. Verichat seems to be the most stable one, although some programs have more features than verichat (bots, multiple screen names logged on etc.). Additionally there seems to be a max number of connections you can have open, so you need to reboot blackberry at least ones a day, although I read verichat is working on this. hope this helps. Blackberry is a much more solid piece of hardware though (besides the security issues with the sidekick...)

jacobsaa,

Do you notice it signing out when you are in the middle of CHAT or just when you are IDLE? I would be upset if it was signing out while typing a reply etc!

jacobsaa,

That's a bummer. I guess it's OK since I have not been able to get any of the CHAT applications to connect. I have read many posts and had help on it to no avail. I'm not on a BES so I do not know what to do yet. I am still trying to get this connected. Wish me luck! LOL.

Default Max Connections

Verichat gave me a Max Connections error every other day. I had to remove that battery and put it back in to clear the problem. IM+ never gave me a problem.

I am still looking for a CHAT application that does not require you to be on a BES or any type of Corp Enviroment. I know there has to be one out there, I just have not found it yet. Still looking.

Well, I have tried installing just about every version of IM. I have not had any luck getting any IM application to connect. I have read various posts on how to do this but to no avail. Basically, I have a BB 7290 through AT&T, I have full Data Access on it. I do not know why I am not able to get an IM Application to connect. This is where I am stuck.
