Default BB7520 Speakerphone no longer works

Please Login to Remove!

Has this happened to anyone. All of my settings are default but when I try to talk or chirp using the speakerphone or the actual earpiece on the phone, I can't hear anything. Strangely enough, when the phone rings, it rings from that same speaker that I should be able to talk/chirp from. Also when I dial numbers, I can hear the tone from each number being pressed through the earpiece on the phone. I have already tried cycling power to the unit and even removing and re-adding the battery. Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it?

This might be dumb, but is you setting on Vibrate or anything. If it is you won't hear it through SPEAKER PHONE. I found this out the hard way...LOL!

But even if it's on vibrate you would still be able to hear from the phone's earpiece and I cannot hear from that either.

Good question pingguy but no I don't have a bluetooth headset. I'm referring to the actual earpiece on the phone itself and the speakerphone.

Yeah I understand, I just ran into a similar problem once when I had my BT headset turned on to run the battery down and forgot about it. I kept trying to answer calls and couldn't figure out why I couldn't hear anything. I disabled BT on the phone and kicked myself and then everything was fine.

That's why I asked.

No prob I appreciate your responses. I posted on another board and received no responses. Legros it's starting to sound like I may have to do just what you did. I was just hoping that it was something I could do rather than possibly have to get a refurb'd unit. Was yours refurb'd or brand new?

I think there is a thread around here that talks about that, I don't know for sure since I still have my original one.

What option did you choose, if any, for your service?

On break they have - service or complete replacement

If you have the later you should be getting a brand new phone

What do you mean which option did I chose for service? For all I know is I just have the unlimited data service and the 3.99 direct protect plan. Is that what you wanted to know? Is there another service that nextel offers that I should be getting to get a brand new phone?
