Default BB7520 Speakerphone no longer works

Please Login to Remove!

Has this happened to anyone. All of my settings are default but when I try to talk or chirp using the speakerphone or the actual earpiece on the phone, I can't hear anything. Strangely enough, when the phone rings, it rings from that same speaker that I should be able to talk/chirp from. Also when I dial numbers, I can hear the tone from each number being pressed through the earpiece on the phone. I have already tried cycling power to the unit and even removing and re-adding the battery. Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it?

sounds like its muted do you see a speaker on the screen anywhere?

This might be dumb, but is you setting on Vibrate or anything. If it is you won't hear it through SPEAKER PHONE. I found this out the hard way...LOL!

But even if it's on vibrate you would still be able to hear from the phone's earpiece and I cannot hear from that either.

Do you have a BlueTooth heaset paired to your 7520?

had the same problem... Never found a solution. Got a remplacement unit from Bell.

Good question pingguy but no I don't have a bluetooth headset. I'm referring to the actual earpiece on the phone itself and the speakerphone.

Yeah I understand, I just ran into a similar problem once when I had my BT headset turned on to run the battery down and forgot about it. I kept trying to answer calls and couldn't figure out why I couldn't hear anything. I disabled BT on the phone and kicked myself and then everything was fine.

That's why I asked.

No prob I appreciate your responses. I posted on another board and received no responses. Legros it's starting to sound like I may have to do just what you did. I was just hoping that it was something I could do rather than possibly have to get a refurb'd unit. Was yours refurb'd or brand new?

What option did you choose, if any, for your service?

On break they have - service or complete replacement

If you have the later you should be getting a brand new phone

What do you mean which option did I chose for service? For all I know is I just have the unlimited data service and the 3.99 direct protect plan. Is that what you wanted to know? Is there another service that nextel offers that I should be getting to get a brand new phone?
