Is it possible to have my blackberry do something to get my attention (make a noise, vibrate constantly, anything) if I get an email from a particular person?

I work in computers, and at my company I have a scheduled process that needs to run, and if it doesn't, I need to be alerted (The process will send an email if it fails).

I know I can change my email profile to do these things, but I'll forget to do this! I really want something that will target this particular email, and allow me to keep my profiles alone.

Any ideas?, I really won't have my blackberry on me at this time, it could be laying around the house.

Try this:

Set up a filter to mark e-mails from that particular sender (or senders) as a 'Level 1 Message'.
Then in your Profile, you can set your alerts for L1 messages to be something different than normal e-mail messages.

I do this with messages from company executives or other "important" people in my little circle. Normal e-mail messages get no audible or vibe alerts... while L1 messages get both.

You can probably accomplish this using Profile Exceptions as well, however I found that the L1 filter is a bit easier to set up.

You can also create profile exceptions.

Profile exception let you specify what profile to use when a message come in for a particular user. With this you don't have to worry about switching profiles.

Aren't exceptions just for voice calls?

For example, I can't set anything for any of my exception other than a custom phone tune on my 8800 (the 8700 with 4.2 is the same).
