If you can wait until the end of July, I will say go for the Blackberry 8300 Curve that is coming out for T-mobile. It's already out for AT&T but the plans are not that great.

Since you are coming from Sidekick 3, that phone will be a very good choice to have.

Pearl is great for it's size. Suretype takes a few days to get use to.

I suggest you do some research for yourself and compare the various BBs and see if it fits your "lifestyle". Only you can make that decision.

Info can be found on the RIM website or on the sites of the various carriers.

The one thing you may want to look into is the 8100 or 8800.
the 8100 has the 1.3mp camera which can be emailed super fast.
The 8800 has no camera but has built in GPS and a full keyboard.
So i guess it depends on your needs.
At first i wanted the full keyboard but after a day or 2 i was able to type just as fast on my pearl.

Pearl is a good cellphone replacement because of its size but I couldn't deal with they keyboard.

I just went from the Sidekick 2 to a Blackberry and i am loving my Blackberry very much. There are some great Blackberry models SUCH AS THE 8700, 8800, PEARL and the Curve coming out soon. You will be in good hands with the Blackberry.

If you are going to get a bb I would recommend getting the newest one possible. This means either the 8800 series or the 8300 series since you want a full keyboard. I just purchased the 7250 because it was cheaper and I know I am going to want to upgrade to the 8830 by the end of this year.

Blackberry 8800 and the Blackberry 8830 (World Ed.) are pretty much the same except the 8830 is on Verizon and has world roaming capabilities. If you plan on traveling over seas, the 8830 might be the way to go. However, the 8830 is only available on Verizon right now, so if you need a BB very quickly you will need to either switch carriers and get used to the high prices of Verizon or buy the 8800. The curve has not been released in the US, but is supposed to be the best BB to date. If you can wait for it, it might be worth it. I don't know about the release date, you can check the 8300 forums for the latest speculation.

IMO, yes the curve will be the best blackberry out when it becomes available. I will definitely buy it when it is released for Verizon. (If that ever happens)
