Default blackberry desktop manager help please (1)

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new user and am trying to import an address book from a csv
file. The phone, a Pearl has a sim in it but has not yet been registered.

I get as far as mapping the fields.

It should show on the left side the blackberry fields and on the right the fields
from my csv file.

Instead it shows on the right the same fields as on the left - not very useful.

any suggestions.

Have you set the Desktop Manager to sync with the ASCII Importer/Exporter?

Not sure what you mean. I have connected the phone to the PC and fired up the Desktop Manager. Then selected the Sync option and from there selected to import the addressbook from a specified csv file. I am importing rather then doing a sync.

After clicking the Synchronization button, you should click the CONFIGURE tab, then Configure Sync button, at which point you will highlight the Address book <-> ?? and click Choose to ASCII Importer/Exporter and then click Import radio button below.

The other option would be to import your CSV file to Outlook for Outlook Express and import/sync from there.

Yes I got that far. I then clicked on Map Fields and it showed me bb fields on the left. On the right I would expect to see the fields from my csv file. Instead the left hand fields were just duplicated on the right.

I'm not an Outlook or OE user so do not really want to go that route.
