Default Poor EDGE in Oregon

Anybody else experiencing this?
I've been with TMO since December of 2004, starting off with the 7100t and then switching to the 8700g when it came out. Lately, I've noticed that many times during the day I only have GSM and no EDGE. Depending on where I am, I might have EDGE but in most places, like my office or home, I only have GSM. This really sucks. What happens is; if I don't have EDGE, then of course I get no email and when I do have EDGE, I get bombarded with all those emails that I couldn't receive when I didn't have EDGE. This is a problem and in my opinion, has been going on too long. TMO says they're updating the system in the Portland market (I'm in Salem), it's been going on since the 9th of May, and they have NO ETA of when it's going to be fixed.
I find it really hard to believe that TMO would be screwing with people's EDGE service during the day rather than at night. Thoughts? Are others experiencing this too? My rep was of NO help to me and may find a lost corporate customer because of it. Granted we've only got 20 phones but I find this all very hard to believe.
