I have a 7290 provided by my company. I'm not sure if it uses BES (the company is pretty big though, >20k employees), but it syncs email, calendar, etc wirelessly.

I would also like to sync the calendar with my personal Outlook at home (ie, to sync my home calendar with my corporate calendar, via my BBery). Is this possible? I got as far as downloading the BBerry desktop software at home and during the install it started asking questions about Excahnge servers, which I don't have at home, so I abandoned it.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you're currently syncing your calendar wirelessly... then you're on a BES.
You should really check with your company IT department to see what they allow as far as syncing your Blackberry with an external source.
It may not be possible at all, or it may be against their policies to do so.

Hi - thanks fo the reply. I'm not sure what their policy is re: syncing with external sources, but I suspect it's not allowed. Without input from the IT department, would this be a non-starter?

As an IT professional myself, I would strongly advise you to consult your own IT department before proceeding.
