I would normally search, but this is so simple and general that it's much quicker to just ask.

My wife uses her BB to get her POP mail. No BES or anything. If she has Outlook open, it seems like outlook will pull emails off her pop server before the BB can get them (I'm guessing it's checking every 15 minutes). If outlook is closed, all her emails make it to the BB.

Is there any way to tweak the settings so that outlook can remain open and she can still get all of her emails? Right now Outlook is set to not leave messages on the server, so I suppose one method would be to change that setting so that outlook leaves messages on the server for a certain period of time. Any other way?

Either set Outlook to leave messages on server, or have Outlook check for mail far less frequently. Set it to check every half-hour or so, which should give BIS enough time to grab most, if not all, of the messages.

Can you set outlook to leave the messages on the server for say 5-7 days? That would be ideal.

Penguins suggestions are right on target. The Outlook settings to leave messages on server are down deep in the Tools > Email account edit settings, but it can be done easily.

This is similar to my setup. Likewise, then I have my POP account set to retain messages for 30 days.
