With Sprint getting the BB 8830 and Treo 755p I'm thinking about switching from Nextel and retiring my abused 7100i.

How does the 8830 stack up to the treo or the windows mobile phones? My only experience with a smartphone has been with my 7100. Has anyone gone from a BB to a regular phone (or other smartphone) and then back to the BB? Why?

How much larger is the 8800 than the 7100? I pocket carry so I'd like it to not become obnoxious because of the size. Does anyone carry an 8800 in their pocket? How's the size of it, does it look like you're carrying a brick?

How do I move my data from one blackberry device to the next? Can I do it via the backup utility?

I don't know how much support you'll get in this forum for switching to a Treo. I tried the Palm Treo and the Windows Treo. The Palm version wasn't too bad but the Windows version was junk always crashing and locking up. Usually once you go with a Blackberry you won't be happy with anything else. From what I see the 8800 is no bigger than the 7100i which I have. The 7100 is pretty thick but I carry it in my pocket at times. I also have a 7520 which I love and I even carry that in my pocket once in a while. As far as moving your data.............I would sync your BB with Outlook and then when you get your new BB, sync it with Outlook. That's how I switch back and forth between my 7100i and my 7520.

So the only way to move my data is with outlook? I use open office so I don't have outlook installed. I guess I can "find" a copy of office if needed but I'd rather not if I don't have to.
