Default Synching POP & Gmail without BES

Please Login to Remove!

Here's my scenario. I'm running a Blackberry 8703e and using Apps for Domains through Google to get my e-mail on GMail. I've been using GMail's mobile app but it's been pretty slow and occasionally logs me out right before I am going to send a message which is pretty frustrating. What I would like to do is get POP access to my e-mail so I can read it through the regular Blackberry e-mail app.

This is possible but the challenge is synching to GMail so that message I have deleted from the handheld won't show up when I log on to GMail. I know this is possible with BES but we're not running BES on our server and given the small size of the company probably won't be anytime soon. Are there any other ways to achieve this? Thanks!

If you are talking about delete a message on the BlackBerry and also have it deleted in Gmail the yes you can do that.

In Email Reconciliation and set the "Delete On" to "Mailbox and Handheld".

Are you sure? Last I checked this option didn't do anything on BIS unless you're on 1.8 and it only deletes from the BIS server -- not the server of the integrated email account. AFAIK two way reconciliation (not sync -- no BB syncs email) is only possible on BES.

Yeah, I think takeshi is right. And we're not running Exchange, Domino or Notes so I don't think BES is an option (if it were I could do BES Express which offers a free CAL).

Our e-mail is hosted entirely by Google so I'm praying that a GMail/Blackberry sync option emerges soon.

All I can tell you is I can sync deletion from my handheld to my Gmail but not the other way around.
