Default Quick way to SMS a contact?

Please Login to Remove!

Couldn't find this in the tips section, but let's say I want to text John S., so from the home screen I start typing Jo, his name pops up.

Instead of pushing the menu button, scrolling to SMS John S. , then clicking the pearl, is there a quick shortcut to just start composing a text to the highlighted contact?

I know when you are in the mailbox you just hit R on whatever message is selected to quick type a reply, wasn't sure if there was a quick shortcut to compose a text to someone. Thanks

I'm not using a Pearl (8703e/Sprint w/ Dimension Zen theme.) I keep the SMS icon on my home screen inside the SMS box I hit the return key at the top of the screen and it will take me directly to my contacts. Click the one I want and off I go. Hope that helps. Faster than that? I dunno. Good luck.
