Default Rogers Wireless BIS 2.3

Please Login to Remove!

I am on the latest BIS ( version 2.3) with Rogers Wireless in Canada yet I am unable to have full 2 way sync with GMail. Also when I send an email from my BlackBerry there is no "D" or "R" notification. When I contacted customer care they pushed the service books to me and told me to go to: Messages/Options/Email Settings and then go through all the email addresses I have and select the "on" option in the Confirm Delivery and Confirm Read fields. It still didn't work. I thought maybe if I pull the battery out for 30 seconds it would correct things but it didn't help either.

The CSR I spoke to told my my handset is most likely broken but it works and is fine because I have no problems sending/receiving emails, text messages and/or pin messages. I can also make calls so I know my device is not broken. I talked to a Rogers dealer and he told me that it works for him but has had customers come tell him things aren't working either. I told him how I felt the rep I spoke to didn't know too much and he's gonna make a couple calls tomorrow then get back to me and his other customers who are having the same issues also. I thought in the mean time I'd see what the experts here had to say and if any of you might know what's causing this or if there is a way to rectify it?

I just set up my 8700r on Fido today. I wonder if they get it too since Rogers is taking care of this behind the scenes I hear. I read you need OS4.2 in order to get any benefits. I wonder if it's worth it on a 8700 or if this is mostly for the newer 8800 and 8300 models with their multimedia features.

I think I'll wait and see how others feel about the upgrade before I get serious about upgrading my 8700 to test this.
