I cannot get my curve and the new bis 2.3 to sync up two way. Gmail wont even mark the mail read after I read it on the handheld yahoo will though. it is one way deletion synch only. Anyone else have problems? I have resent service books and deleted and added accounts. The sync option is enabled on the bis end...

No problem with Sprint that I've noticed. Sync'ing fine.

I am able to get deletes going both ways with GMail. It just takes a while. However, I don't get reads in either direction. *shrugs*

My yahoo sync deleted mail ok, but gmail doesn't appear to do it. I was under the impression that gmail didn't 2 way sync. Read this from BGR carefully:

Subscribers using a Yahoo!® Mail account will now have two-way synchronization of deletes to and from the Yahoo! Mail inbox, as well as two-way, virtual real-time synchronization of message status (read/unread). That means that when subscribers delete a message from their Yahoo! mail account, the message is also deleted on their BlackBerry (and vice-versa). And when they read a Yahoo! mail message on their BlackBerry, the message is immediately marked 'read' in their Yahoo! mail account. There's no need to manage messages twice. Also, subscribers using a Gmail® account are no longer required to enable POP (Post Office Protocol) before integrating their Gmail account with their BlackBerry service. And subscribers now experience virtual real-time (instead of poll-based) delivery of Gmail messages.



It mentions nowhere that Gmail will have 2 way sync. Maybe it is written incorrectly if gmail does 2 way sync though.

Your deletes in Gmail syncs to the handheld?

I marked a message as "spam" in mhy Yahoo account which deletes it from the inbox. However, it is still there on my Berry. Does the 2 way only work when you "delete" mai, and not when marking it as "spam"?

Anyone else with T-Mo noticing a long delay with Deletes from the inbox showing up on their BB. Reads are pretty close to real-time...but deletes are taking well over 1/2 hour +.

I've been playing with my Yahoo and Gmail account today. It seems that only Yahoo mail supports the full 2 way sync for now.. and even then there is a caveat.

If I use the New Yahoo mail interface, emails are marked read immediately on the BB if I read them on the web. However, deletes never happen on the BB if I initiate them on the Web.

If I switch to the "old" Yahoo mail interface, deletes done on the web trigger a delete on the BB instantly.

It's improving but still doesn't come close to the full BES experience. I am not sure that Google can ever have that without folders.

Not me. When I deleted from my handheld, it would be gone from my GMail, but when I deleted from GMail, it would never be removed from the handheld.

Deletes from GMail take HOURS to be reflected on the BlackBerry... but they do reconcile.
Some of mine took overnight, but they eventually went away.

Read/unread marks do not reconcile with GMail at all.

Well instant 2 way sync does not work on my yahoo account. Deletes, yes after reconcile now or wait for auto reconcile to kick in. Sends from the BB are instantly placed in the Sent folder on yahoo. Still using classic yahoo interface. This includes reads not syncing.

Using 8703e if that means anything (VZW).

EDIT: Yahoo now seems to be working as it should. However I get delays due to Yahoo's servers doing greylisting. It doesn't happen all the time but it makes the BIS integration unreliable - get Message temporarily deferred 421 errors from Yahoo's smtp servers.

So what good is instant email w/2-way sync if Yahoo blocks/delays mesages getting delivered to the inbox! Grrrrr.....
