Thumbs down Help! I cant setup a POP account for bis!

Please Login to Remove!

I'm unable to setup a POP account for my blackberry! The blackberry site keeps setting it up as IMAP!!!! IMAP is on the mail server but isnt supposed to be used. The blackberry site doesnt give me the option to use POP. Everything else in my company works fine with POP.

I talked to blackberry and they told me that it will set it up as IMAP over POP if IMAP is there and there is no way to change this. They told me to disable IMAP on the mail server or configure it correctly! They also told me to try a forwarding rule to another address!

All I want to do is use POP without having to get changes made to the mail server! Why cant I select POP!

Does anyone know how I can get my POP account setup? This is very frustrating

Please follow RIM's advice on this one.
They have provided you with an accurate and correct answer.

If IMAP is available, it will be used instead of POP.
Why not just use IMAP? It's "better" than POP.
If you shouldn't be using it... then why is it available on your server?

Try entering your email address and leave the password blank when setting up your account on BIS. You can then choose advanced setup.
