Default Email showing as read on Blackberry Pearl

Hi,

I have a few clients now with blackberry pearls, all using either imap or pop3 to exchange servers. They dont have the blackberry enterprise servers. All are showing the same problems.

Basically, if the Pearl collects an email, whether they read it or not, that email is showing as read on both their outlook and their Pearls. If the pearl is turned off or otherwise not collecting emails, then the emails dont show as read in Outlook.

I have checked the settings on the pearls, but cant see anything obvious about marking emails as read automatically.

Anyone got any ideas why these emails might be marked as read if collected by the Pearl ?

Default Email showing as read on Blackberry 8830

I am having the same issue with my 8830. I use BIS and cannot seem to understand why. I have 2 Yahoo accounts and am not logged into either, but still get the same result. That is all my emails show up read. The only time I have a msg indicator is if I have a vmail (which I set to post in my message folder instead the sms). Of course this happened when the new BIS rolled out, so I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation, I just haven't found one yet.

Normally this forum is where it is at for solving said issues in a hearbeat, but looks like you have been at it for a couple days.

If you happened to figure out, please post your resolution. Otherwise, I'll hope the experts here will be able to help. They are usually dead on.

I had my friend with similar problem so I disabled Wireless Reconcile on his blackberry and it fixed his issues.
He does not care about reconciling emails, he did care they marked read on blackberry.

This setting is under Email Reconcilliation, must be changed for each email account.

I guess I don't care so much about the reconciliation either, however, I am missing any and all option under the category for 1 of my email accounts (have 2 Yahoo's). 1 is showing and I was able to disable. However, the exact same account (different email address) has no options available. What gives?

I've been experiencing the same problem. I have 3 email accounts setup and it seemed to be only happening to my Rogers (yahoo) email.
i disabled the reconciliation for that email and it seems to have fixed the problem.
just out of curiosity, I'm using BIS, by me disabling reconciliation, does it actually change anything?
