The are two recent threads/polls started by Guess but promptly locked. What gives?

People chose not to read all of my posts within the topics explaining the idea further, and kept making the same statements (like the 100+ post count thing, which I quickly eliminated, but people chose to post regarding that still)

The Threads turned pointless at that point, and were locked.

Guess, perhaps we should give it another look, then. I apologize for speaking before I understood the idea fully. I read the threads around a couple of times every day, and I always start by hitting the New Posts button. Was there more information prior to Idea of Advanced BlackBerry User Discussion Forum? that I may have missed?

My concern was never that the new forum would be locked. Rather, I was worried that the Blackberry gods would start using the advanced forum and leave the less experienced to fend for themselves. As long as the advanced thread is readable by everyone and as long as you and Mark Rejhon (and several others who routinely provide useful information here) promise to read and answer every one of my posts ;-> I think the idea of an advanced forum is a great idea!

About a day before you started this thread I PM'd Mark to thank him for a great job of moderating. In doing so I left out the rest of the team of moderators. I think you have created an incredibly useful tool here, and I think you and all of the moderators run it well. I usually don't hang around these types of forums very long because the discussion always seems to gravitate toward everyone wanting to unlock their phones and the flame wars that follow. You guys keep the conversations on topic, and keep all of us in line pretty well.

Thanks for providing a place for us to all learn what we need to know about our Crackberrys!

I second Dozemont's statement. I have found this to be a very useful sight and I would hate to see all of the experts go on their own and not help us less expereinced people who are looking to ask the experts questions. That would kind of defeat the purpose.

The past few days have loaded the forums with duplicate threads and new posts about the same thing. I see alot of people getting upset when people tell them to use the search button such as get off your high horse and answer my questions. So I am changing my mind about the advanced forums or atleast making it where they cant make a new thread untill they have a certain amount of posts. Some of the questions being asked have been beaten to death like the high horse mentioned. I do a search for new posts when I come in and dang I see same questions over and over again. Now they call it "newbie question here"
