On my blackberry, when I go into the messages area that has all my email, how can I:

1. Delete a message from the main message screen with one key? Right now I have to open the message, click the scroll wheel and click delete. I want to be able to delete the message without opening it and with just one key.

2. On the email messages screen, is there an easy way to delete multiple messages at once?

1. Highlight the message and press the DEL key on the keyboard.

2. Highlighting a date (not a message) in the messages list and clicking the trackwheel gives you the option to 'Delete Prior' which will erase all messages prior to the date you've selected.

1 - Hightlight the message in the list and press the Delete key - to avoid having to confirm, go into Messages / Options / General Options and set confirm delete to 'No'.

2. Yes, hold down your ALT key and scroll to hightlight multiple messages, then press the Delete key.

I don't know if this is device dependent, but it's SHIFT + scroll for me. ALT + scroll moves between dates.
