Question SureType not working?

Please Login to Remove!

I thought SureType was supposed to predict what you are typing and give you options of words to choose from. When I type in a word I have to spell out the entire thing every time, even if it's a word I use frequently.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Do you have ABC in the upper right hand corner of your device? If so, go to a text field (like an email you're composing) and hold down the * key for a few seconds to make the ABC go away.

That's how SureType works. It isn't predictive text.

No, thats how SureType can work if you chose to use it that way. By default it is predictive.

EDIT: I mean it predicts the characters...

No, SureType is NOT exactly predictive, it is a form of it, though. It will not "guess" your entire word before all the letters are entered. You have to type the entire string of characters.

The official QWERTY vs. Suretype thread! :)
Suretype guesses? or type out the whole word?

Yes. That was what I mean. It predicits the character... I think. I may be completely wrong though...

SureType tries to determine the correct characters based on what you type. The OP thought it would predict the word before you were finished typing it, like how iTap works.
