So, I have an 8800 (BES) and a Cingular 'family' plan with two numbers, mine (the BB) and my wifes (Nokia). The main number is mine.

I looked on the BB under advanced options/sim card and it lists my number and then my wifes number

Everything seemed to work fine on both phones, but today I installed BB Alert and had problems with the sms alerts. I was asked to check if my phone number is on the sim, and when I replied that both are there it was suggested that this could be the BBAlert problem.

But will removing my wifes phone number from my SIM card do anything to our family plan, or our service in general. Why is it there?
