Default BIS outage?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone else not receiving emails on their BB this morning? As of about 7 am, nothing is getting through, not even service books. Oddly, I can send emails without a problem.

The automated network message on the RIM tech support line reports no known outages. Bleah.

Could be. I sent messages to Gmail and my vzw.blackberry.net message and nothing yet. My BES account is working properly.

Problem here, too. I checked my charter.net account and sure enough - junk mail that hadn't yet been sent to my BB. Hmmmmm... maybe this isn't such a bad thing.

Yeah, don't get too excited. I got all my service books and the backlog of emails, and now (a whole 8 minutes later) nothing is coming through again.

Well I take that back now--I have received several emails, but I just tested to my @tmo.blackberry.net address and it has NOT come through.

Same on cingular, can send but there is no receiving on either my gmail or @mycingular.blackberry accounts.

Has anyone called any of their carriers to see what's up?

For those who are coming here looking for information, here's what we know:

- Users can send but not receive emails.
- Service books are not being delivered.
- The issue started around 7:00 AM ET.
- Service was temporarily restored for some users around or just before 9:00 ET, but stopped again within a few minutes.
- It is not specific to any one carrier or email provider (i.e., it is a BIS issue).
- RIM's automated network notification line STILL reports that there are no outages.

As an aside...does anyone know...when entering the IMEI under the "Change your device" option on BIS, does it matter if you include or not include the dots between the digits? I notice that if you get your IMEI using Options>Status, the number contains some dots. If you get it from the sticker under your battery, there are no dots.
