Default Using BB Overseas

Please Login to Remove!

Hi - I will be traveling overseas, and will be taking my bb with me. Is there a way I can set my device to check every so many hours, or manually check for email, rather than constantly checking and constantly receiving charges?

I have a 7100. Others on the trip will also have a 7280 and 7290. We all have Cingular. I did not know if the settings were the same for all 3.

Sure. Turn the radio off.
Then when you want to check, turn the radio on.

I know this may be a stupid question, but does the phone itself still work then? I'm very new to these devices.

Call Cingular and review your service plan with them versus your needs. With an unlimited BlackBerry plan and a $5 to 10 international add-on, I get e-mail on the BB worldwide (except Japan and Korea that I know of) without seperate charges.

If the radio is off, the phone and the e-mail are both off.

Cingular charges $20 extra for unlimited international data. I would suggest getting this.
