Does anyone know if the timeout on the direct connect - PTT can be changed? The 7520 returns to the previous screen after a DC has finished far too fast, whether it be the home screen or messages, etc. You have to navigate back to the phone screen or address book and look up the contact to start the DC again. Annoying!

Don't do it rajaa11, you will wish you wouldn't have done it in the long run. Stick out Nextel's growing pains, every company has them, it's just Nextel's time. I too have had the PTT problem and have found no solution to it either.

Is there any way we, as a community can compile a list and present it to Nextel for their consideration to implement into a future software release??

They dont make the software RIM does. So would have to present to RIM

you cannot change the time the dc connection remains open. It will remain open for six seconds. I do agree however handheld os should have been designed with this in mind. It would seem to me a simple lengthening of the delay before the screen change could be easily rolled into a handheld os update. Even betterh imho would be a configurable option. I have brought this issue to RIMs attention previously, seems like they might need some reminders.

I have had this problem as well. It would be nice if instead of going back to the home screen, it at least went to the recent call screen. I have set my mail icon list(whatever that is called) so that it keeps track of DC calls, too, in case I miss one, but that can get bothersome, too because it keeps putting a new addition to the list everytime you go more than 6 seconds in a conversation. But really, Nextel is worth some of the headaches. I know I would miss the DC without it.

This is actually the best solution because it is how all other Nextel phones work. When you send/receive a DC it doesn't stay active very long on any phone, but other phones will leave you selected on that entry so that you can keep the call going. We really should ask RIM to duplicate this behavior because it would be more standard and more importantly.. it would be far less annoying.

You said it pingguy! I would like to see my blackberry remain in a state to re-establish the two-way session after the 6 second delay. It is way irritating to have exit the app you were in to get to the call list not to mention the extra in doing that take time it take.

You would think that RIM or somebody would read these forums so that they could learn what customers and BB users want, like, and dislike. What do I know though, I am just the average working JOE......

I'm sure there are Nextel snoopers here. Whether anything that is proposed actually gets to the ears and minds of upper management is questionable.

I think that is HIGHLY doubtful considering I haven't seen much change in their service when it comes to BBs. But anything could happen, I know if I wanted my business to suceed and they some forum stuff like this, I would be all over it!
