Default Verizon World Blackberry Browser

My dad normally uses a Treo but we have a family trip comming up in the UK. He decided to rent a world blackberry. Verizon customer service told him that he can not use the BB for web browsing. Only email and phone. Is this accurate? Times like this make me love T-Mobile and how easy it is to add Int'l Email to my account.

I'm out of my league on this...but perhaps what he was saying was that the plan your dad purchased for overseas does not include web browsing, and that you'll incur additional charges if you use it? Just a thought.

There's no reason that he can't but he should call Verizon back and make sure that it's not the case that rsnadel mentions above (he might need to add an international BB data plan or something).
