Question One Blackberry, two mailboxes, can it be done?

Please Login to Remove!

How pleased was I to find such an excellent forum all about Blackberrys, just when I needed it most!

I have a question, has anyone tried (and hopefully succeeded) to get two Exchange mailboxes to be accessible from one Blackberry device?

I've tried messing around with delegation and setting up rules within outlook to achieve this, but I really need to keep the two mailbox addresses entirely independant of each other, but be able to access both from one device - in an ideal world I'd like there to be two separate icons on the main screen, one for each mailbox. If necessary, one of the accounts could be a pop3, internet based account I guess, but this wouldn't be very elegant - Ideally they should both be Exchange accounts.

I have a worrying feeling this just can't be done, but maybe someone knows better...

Many thanks.

Use BES/Exchange for 1, BWC for the other. It's about the only shot you have. It's been discussed here several times, you may want to consider searching a little bit.

True, but it's not going to fulfill the requirement of having them be two "seperated" accounts, messages for both will filter in and out of the same application on the BB.

I thought I saw something once about doing this via a 3rd party email reader... Sorry, can't be much more help than that - but at least a direction to look.

Interesting thought and definitely something to look into depending on how important seperate email accounts is to you.

Oops, I misread before replying -- please ignore this message.

The BES and BWC solution works fairly well. I've done this to keep my personal and work email separate while still using a single Blackberry. But, as has been mentioned, you won't have two separate icons.

There are MIDP mail clients out there, which would totally separate the 2 email accounts, what you have to realize is that you will only get push email on the blackberry mail, not the 3rd party mail client.

You can somewhat separate the BES from the BWC in that you can specify a different return address for the BWC or BES account so that [email address] goes through BES. [email address] forwards to [email address]. You set the BWC reply from address to [email address] and nobody will be none the wiser, it will all work fine.

On the blackberry, you can specify the Send Using option to reply and/or send email from whichever account you wish. You can also see individual mail folders for each account, the BES account and the BWC account.

I really think this is the way to go... I would rather have a glance at all my email and then be able to look at the individual accounts later.
