Default GMail Sending Questions

Please Login to Remove!

Good morning all...

I am experiencing a new issue since I moved from a Verizon BIS account to a GMail BIS account. Everytime I send a message from my BlackBerry, using my GMail account, I am immediately receiving a two messages in my GMail account folder (1 showing it as a message sent and 1 showing it as a message received). The odd thing here is that I am not sending the message to this GMail account at all... just from it. In the past, my Verizon BIS folder would only display the sent message... which I prefer.

Is there a way to make it stop? Am I overlooking something maybe?

Thank you in advance!

Have you read this or searched for the answer?

create a filter that says it will block any emails that come from your Gmail address. the POP3 feature on Gmail allows a 2 way sync, but the POP3 feature will pick up the new "sent message" on gmail's server as a new messasge and it will download it...hence...receiving back the message you just sent. there should be an option on your online BIS account through Verizon, or you can do it on your handheld i believe.

hope this helps.

FYI...for the future you should do a search before posting a generalized question like this. the other guy pointed you in the right direction with another thread.

I apologize that I did not mention that I did indeed do a search on this and was not able to come across this information. I even looked at each message within the 4 pages of results that were returned to me without any luck.

Maybe I was searching for the wrong thing... but nonetheless, I appreciate your responses.

It's probably in the top 10 most asked questions on this board, I bet 5+ times each day. And I do understand you'd get pages of results from a search.

yea, it helps to be as specific as possible though. if searching for this issue, it would be wise to do Gmail , and then automatically you will get all results involving that. you can also try Gmails Help Center. They have dozens of threads specifically related to blackberry

Yeah... understood. I've been very successful in the many many searches that I have done before. Not sure why I found this one to be so difficult.

The trick did work, however I needed to create multiple filters to accomplish this since the seperating multiple emails by semi-colon wasn't working. This was necessary as I am also forwarding my crackberry.com emails to my gmail account.

Thank you again and I will try to spend more than 30 minutes on my searches for now on Take care!

glad it worked out for you. by the way, Gmail accounts on BIS now deliver emails instantly. it never used to be like that. it used to be that you would have to wait 15 mins like you do for other POP3/IMAP accounts. my college account you have to wait 15 mins, but gmail is really quick. i'm thinking of forwarding my college IMAP account to gmail just so i can have quick delivery.

That... and the fact that iGoogle offers some pretty cool stuff is what made me make the change. Let me tell you... immediately receiving email and not being BES is pretty cool now!

Thanks!
