Default Verizon Service Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought a Blackberry 7750 on eBAy. I got it in the mail yesterday and I activated it. I read the manuals and went to the www.blackberry.com/go/vzw site and set up an e-mail account. I have not made any changes to my existing Verizon voice account. However, now I can send and receive e-mail as well as visit the web. Am I gonna be chaged for anything other than airtime ?? Bear in mind, I have not made ANY changes to my exisiting voice account, I merely activated the blackberry phone.

Thanks

When I got my 7250 from Verizonwireless, the customer service department did not add the bb unlimited data plan until the following day. During that one day I didn't have blackberry data plan, I burned through 435 minutes of my plan minutes. And that was just sending/receiving emails with very light web surfing. Everytime you receive/send an email, it uses about 1-3 minutes from your calling plan.

So beware! You think you are getting an awesome deal using your Blackberry without having to pay Verizon for Blackberry access, you are going to be in for a rude surprise when your cell phone bill comes.

To answer your question, yes, you must have that plan added on or else you get royally screwed.

Also, If I were you, I wouldn't do any websurfing/emailing without that plan added on either, because THAT'S where cell phone companies make their big bucks, hehe.
