Digital camera photos into the Blackberry Does anyone know how to get photos from a digital camera into a Blackberry (other than emailing them to yourself using a computer). Since the Blackberry does not have a camera, how would one take a picture and email to someone using the Blackberry?? If you already somehow have the picture in the Blackberry, you can email to someone, but how do you get the picture into the Blackberry unit itself??? Any advice would be appreciated. |
There are two ways to save photos on a Blackberry: 1. Email them. I find this by far the easiest 2. Save the photo from a web page. |
Thanks for the info. I am new to the Blackberry. I like it so far, but I think RIM has missed the mark a little if there is no way to get a photo into the device other than emailing it from another computer. If you are out on a job site and need to take a photo of something to email to someone, you have to go find someone with a computer so that you can email to your blackberry so that you can get the photo in your blackberry, so you can email it out to someone. That is what I mean by missing the "mark". There should be a way to get a photo into the unit using bluetooth or the USB connection or something. Maybe somebody smarter than me can come up with a way. |

EDIT: Also what size should a photo be? Thanks in advance.. |
KM1966, Since the Blackberry is a business class device first and more and more businesses are leary of camera phones, the Blackberry won't every have a camera phone. If you require to take pictures at a job site and immediately mail them, then you probably should have a camera phone and email them from that. |
Got the size 244X125 PIXELS .. thanks.. |

I too wish there was a way to pull files into the BB via usb. Almost if you could "see" the flash storage when connected via usb to a computer. Drag and drop and done. |
That would greatly blow RIM's security out the water allowing things like that though. |
Did you ever get this to work? I tried to email a JPG file to my BB and no luck...nothing shows up. What am I missing? MacBerry12 |
You have to have 4.0 on your BB and 4.0 BES. Then you can opent he attachment and actually save it to your device. |
You don't need BES, it can be done with the web client as well (assuming your provider has upgraded to 4.0 -- has anyone not?) However, the 4.0 code requirement still stands. |
