Default notes account not configured on the BES

Please Login to Remove!

Has anybody come across this before?

Objective: to upgrade a user’s blackberry from 7230 to 8100
Users PC is running windows XP, lotus notes 7 and desktop manager 4.2.1

Actions:
• Remove user from bes server and then re-added
• Unplug and remove (already turned off) Blackberry 7230.Swap sim
• Plug in new Blackberry 8100 Start desktop manger software
• Select device, Point to ini file and BES server (entered correctly)
• Restart desktop manager
• Error: “your notes account is not configured on the Blackberry Enterprise Server. Do you wish to select another server?”
• Cancel and check bes server details, incorrect… corrected and restart desktop manager.
• Error, check server details, correct.
• Cancel and finish config.. note: no "email reconciliation" option available, restart desktop manager.
• Error: “your notes account is not configured on the Blackberry Enterprise Server. Do you wish to select another server?”

I have checked on the server and the user account is there with the correct policy and settings “initialising”
Have tried removing and reading the account with no further success.
Have tried resending the policy to the account.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop software.


Your thoughts and suggestions would be welcome...

More on the issue

The User has had the Handset activated ( done OTA)

Desktop manager is still giving the "your notes acount is not configured on the selected blackberry enterprise server. do you wish to select another server" msg and when in DTM if one clicks on the email settings icon one gets "emails settings are not available without an online connection to your messaging system". message.


I used to have a full head of hair........
