Default Text Messaging?

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought an 8700c used on ebay because I wanted to just try it out and see if I liked it or not. So far so good, except one thing. I depend on text, sms, messaging quite a bit, but for somereason that function doesn't show up on my BB. I go to the message icon and im only given the option to write an email (which i can't do because of no data plan). Any advice on how to fix this?
Thanks!

Your used device probably has an IT policy on it from the previous owner which prevents SMS usage.

You'll likely need to remove the IT policy to enable this feature.

Any advice on how to do that? Haha I'm completely new to the Blackberry world. The seller also said it would come to me cleared out which I believe it did because it had me set up passwords and whatnot.

The link I gave you above has step-by-step instructions.

If the previous owner simply did a device wipe to clear out their data... that's not enough to remove the IT policy.
You need to manually remove it.

No problem... glad to help.
Had I known you were a Yankee fan, I might not have been so nice. ;)
