Welcome to the forums,
I've had great coverage all over Europe with TMobile. It's all roaming so my guess is that you'll get about the same with either carrier.

As John mentioned, your coverage will be the same, but your roaming charges will be significantly lower with T-Mobile.

I use AT&T and it works great all over Europe and SWA. I travel with a coworker on TMO. His works just as well. I have the AT&T international data plan so I do not pay any additional roaming charges.

I got my 8700 last fall for a vacation in Europe. UK down thru Germany to Italy back up thru Switzerland to France. I am on an AT&T plan, and international unlimited data plan..

I had great service everywhere except for a half hour section north of Milan near the Swiss border. My voice calls were $.99/minute, but data was pre-paid for the $20/month additional on the Blackberry Unlimited International plan from AT&T. I selected AT&T for this plan which T-Mobile didn't carry at that time (haven't checked on it since Sept last year)
