Default BB in the Czech Republic

Please Login to Remove!

Hello-

I currently have my own Vodafone UK BB handset which is connected to my work BES. I am currently based in the Czech Republic and have just applied for a BB contract with a local provider (T-Mobile). They don't currently have the handset I want (8300) so I have decided to use my old Vodafone 8700 handset until I get can my hands on a 8300. My questions are:

- I have already had the handset unlocked by Vodafone UK so it should work with the new T-Mobile CZ SIM card (which I will receive next week) but how can I set the handset up to connect to the local T-Mobile network? I presume that they can send me an SMS to do this or explain how to configure the handset but I cannot find any configuration settings on the handset that would appear to be for this! I have searched through Settings and Advanced settings and cannot find anything that looks like the network settings.
- Will I need to do a fresh Enterprise Activation given that it is only the network that is changing?

thanks in advance,
Fergus (Prague)

When you put local Czech SIM card into 8700, device should automatically connect to local network. If device is truly unlocked and new SIM card has blackberry data plan you'll get GPRS or EDGE (capital letters).

No, you will not.

thanks for the quick response. it sounds pretty straightforward then as I will have a BB plan with my new network...

so I could buy an 8300 from eBay and it would be just as easy except an Enterprise Activation would be needed??
