I attempted to upload a ringtone from BlackberryTunes.com and kept receiving a http 406 error.

Is this possible and if so how can I be successful?

I am using a BB7510 on the Telus Mobility Network.

I've got the same BB, same network.

This is my personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt.
If you're not using a BES, then Telus has seriously screwed up some BB features. One of them is downloading things OTA into the 7510/7520. They seem to have limited the size of downloads to under 4kb.

If you try to download a midi file (for a ringtone) from the built in browser, it will work if the file size is 3kb, but will not work if it is 4kb. The error is generally the same one you are experiencing.

If you are using a BES, then this does not apply to you.


Now, if someone can tell me I'm wrong, PLEASE DO SO!!
I hate this limitation telus has imposed and will be happy to be proven wrong, or have someone tell me about a workaround.
