Default Headsets to avoid wind noise?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Brand new 7100t owner here. Prior to that I was using a Sprint Samsung A680. I drive a convertible and that phone had exceptional volume, which I really liked. The 7100t is somewhat lacking. Also, the mic on the 7100t seems to be *extremely* oversenstive to background noise. Even the slightest soft touch anywhere on the phone is picked up loudly, and wind noise is deafening. I understand this is a difficult issue for any headset or mic, but it seems much worse than usual on the 7100.

I know this is VERY subjecttive question but... I'd appreciate recommendations for really good headsets, wired OR Bluetooth, that will allow me to get decent volume on the incoming call and somewhat reduce background noise, especially wind noise.

Try the Sony HBH-300. If you go to howardforums you'll find a lot of good feedback on that headset with regards to voice quality. I find voice quality to be good but volume is a bit low.

There are also some mods like adding the jabra eargel and a shure (?) windscreen from those headsets to make the sony even better. I believe you can by the replacement eargels and windscreens at Radio Shack.

You also might want to look at the new Motorola 850.

Gave my girlfriend the Motorola HS-850. She loves it. Fast connection time. Good audio clarity and I can never tell when she's using it or her V3 RAZR's regular mic and earpiece.
