If anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it. I have been on the phone with tmobile support for about the last 5 hours. Noone can figure this out. Which is kind of sad. Heres whats wrong i connect the way that you are suppose with a usb cord and a modem. The connection is then successful when i try to dial out. It is successful at 115.2 kbps. The problem is no webpages work or anything and its just been a nightmare. Anyone have a solution to this problem? (By the way i have tried different usb cords and have tried to steps on three different computers 2 xp and 1 vista) HELP PLEASE THANK YOU.

Yes i have followed every step on that. I am getting the message that The Connection has timed out. Does anyone have any clues? TMOBILE sure doesnt know. My web browser on my phone works great also. So i am getting internet and i am on the edge network.

Are you on a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server?) Meaning, do you get your corporate email to the device? If so, it's possible that IT policy is preventing this service.

No i am not on the enterprise plan. The tmobile people told me to take my phone back to the store and get a new one. (Its been less than 14 days and there is like a no questions asked policy) What do you think John? Have you ever heard of this problem before.

I'm not sure if it's necessary for using as modem, but have you entered the APN settings under TCP?

Go to Options >Advanced Options >TCP and enter the following:

APN:wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:

(leave the username and password blank.)

I'm thinking there is something wrong with the setup, either your PC or your Desktop Manager/PC or setup in the BB. You may likely have the same problem with another BB.

Yea my phone works fine i tried the TCP settings for the OPERA browser and yet it still wont work. (I was just testing the opera browser but it wont configure either) (well i think the setup is right because i have it on three computers... Who knows though

Would you recommend trying a hard reset? Do you think that might fix the problem? I have tried everything possible that i know of. Thats why i think it might be the phone. I was on the phone with tmobile for about 5 hours.

It sounds like you're simply timing out. This is a stab in the dark, but....

For whatever reason, Windows always sets up COM ports at 9600 BPS instead of 115200BPS. In Device Manager, go to Standard Modem which is what the BlackBerry uses, and find the COM port the modem is using on the Modem tab.

Now, go to that COM port and set it to 115200 BPS.

If that doesn't fix the problem, try setting the Flow Control to Hardware.

Hey jerry the com port was already set to that value. So i didnt change it. How do you do the flow thing your talking about. Im getting ready to exchange it this morning and ill let everyone know if maybe the modem was just defective.

Also do you recommend updating all the software before i reinstall everything when i get a new phone
