Hey folks, can anyone give me the rundown on what kind of problems I could run into by posting my PIN? I'd like to connect with other BB users and get handy tips and tricks, but I'm unaware of the risks of doing so.

It all depends on your level of privacy desired. To me, it sounds like you don't have a problem with Joe Blow being able to add you. Some people don't want to talk to random people. As far as I know, you can't actually do any harm with the PIN like a security compromise or the such.

Thanks for the info john.kmiecik! I'll be posting my PIN as soon as I get my new Pearl. Some lowlife scumbag stole it while I was at a nightclub. Thank the Lord for insurance and data backup!

Yeah that about sums it up. Only thing you'll likely deal with is people trying to BBmgr you and you'll then have to accept or not.

Sucks someone stole it, but at least you get a new one.

The real issue would be Joe Blow sending you unwanted PIN messages. As far as I know there is no way to block that.

Well I wish I could've caught Joe doing it. He would have met the wrong end of a broken champagine bottle. Bastard. Hope he's enjoying all the pics of my son, retarded emails from friends and family and my heavy metal music. It's all good though, I dropped my Pearl a couple of times and it got scratched , but now I'm getting a brand new unblemished one. I will sooooo be investing in a Seidio super-slim clear case. See, there's an upside to everything!
