Ok. Here is the million dollar question, and I am hoping that some hardcore blackberry users will be able to answer this. Is there an ULTIMATE 2-way sync set up with your blackberry where not just emails are sync'd, but calendar, to do list, notes, contacts, etc. i am not talking about receiving one-way calendar reminders on your cell phone from outlook or anything, i am talking about if you create and make a calendar date on your blackberry it will show up on your computer, and vice versa. i am talking about a completely sync'd setup so you literally have your entire life at your fingertips.

I think some of the BIS software is getting close....but I don't use BIS as much as I use BES, so not sure.

Nothing that I am aware of, it is either BES, Hosted BES or BIS.

The only wireless sync for contacts and calendar is via a BES solution, AFAIK.

Email doesn't sync BTW. You can reconcile it, but I don't think you can sync it between a BB and a PC.

do you know of any BES solutions for personal users? in other words, are there companies out there with websites that allow you to pay a small monthly fee and be able to sync calendary, contacts, etc....
something where you can create your own account to (since i obviously am not going to buy my own BES for personal use)

Do a search, there are lots of companies out there that will provide those types of services. Lots of them advertise on this very site.

Mailstreet and exchangemymail are two.

I have been using ExchangeMyMail for about a year and a half now and they have rock solid reliability. They also have a wonderful control panel where you can configure everything on your account.

does the desktop redirector offer full sync or does desktop redirector simply push emails one way to your blackberry?

Redirector doesn't sync and it's really not recommended anyway.

If you want full reconciliation and wireless sync you have to use BES (hosted or otherwise).
