Default Screen Brightness/Clarity

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,

Just joined the forum as I am now the proud owner of a Blackbery 7230

Quick question.

I am using software v.3.7.1.21 whilst my colleague is on v.4.00.188

We both have the Blackebrry 7230 (UK 02 version), but his screen is brighter and much sharper.

Can i change my settings to get the same brightness and clarity?
Is it linked to software version that we are using?

Thanks in advance,

litfoo

I don't think you can adjust the brightness or clarity on a 7230. 4.0 gives you the ability to adjust how long the light stays on but not the brightness. Probably just a different production run or maybe your colleague has a newer device.

udontknowjack,

Thanks for that. I think that even though we both have the 7230, he must have a much newer model as his screen is considerably brighter and sharper.

Will see if I can upgrade at work ;)

Thanks again,

If you have the option to upgrade, you should consider replacing your 7230 with a 7290 -- assuming your carrier offers it. The 7290 has two backlight settings. The lowest brightness setting is much brighter than the 7230 (I've placed the two side-by-side to compare). The highest brightness setting on the 7290 is so bright, you could use the device as a makeshift flashlight (or torch, as you say in the UK). The downside? The 7290 is a little less bright than the 7230 when no backlight is engaged.
