Please Login to Remove!

I just got a set of 7100i's and activated them. Me and wifey have them. Mine went through fine...Her's well after activation we got 350+ e-mails in the first 2 hours! finally caught up they now just trickle in. They are all addressed to the previous owner's e-mail account. I called Nextel support and they had me remove accounts and update servies books. SAme issues. Now I am at wits end with all this friggin junk mail. So if anyone knows anything, please help!

This is a common problem with buying a used BB.

You need to contact the previous owner and have them delete their BIS account which will release the IMEI and PIN so you can set up your BIS email. Just canceling the phone service witht he carrier won't do it, BIS needs to be canceled as well.

If the seller won't do it, your carrier might, but they are sometime hesitant as the device could be lost or stolen.

Your last resort is to try to get RIM fix the problem.

Good luck.

This is going to keep happeninf until the former owner's BIS account is deleted. I'm not sure why Nextel had you remove the accounts and update the service books. Even if you wipe the device, the next time it gets its service books it will begin receiving the former owner's email.
