I keep reading and keep becoming more confused. Here are my questions. Please help.

Thanks!

#1- When putting in a phone number, is there a way to NOT bring up peoples names in addition?

#2- Is there a way to set my keypad to work like a normal cell for texting. Example...Hitting the "1" key TWICE to get a "R"

#3- I can’t figure out how to have my phone locked while it’s in my pocket? Is the standby the only way to do this?

#4- How to scroll from top to bottom fast? Can you do it without the trackball?

#5- When scrolling through my address book, options, etc… is there a way to change the background there? It’s just white and very plain text. I know I can change the text font and style

#6- I’m wanting to test out the opera mini 4.0/beta and it’s already on my phone but I don’t know how to switch it? I went to Options>Advanced Options>Applications>Opera Mini 4.0 Mini but it doesn’t do anything?

#7- I can’t download my email attachment? Here’s what I get.
I highlight my cursor over the attachment on emails and click menu but all I get is:

- No as far as I know.

- enable your multitap instead of suretype

- hold the * key for a couple sec.

- not sure what you mean by switch it. If you have Opera Mini download and installed on your phone, you should be able to see the icon in your list when you hit "menu" that brings up all the programs that you have installed.

good answers, just would add that #7 works only if the attachment is a file type the blackberry can open.

What part is this in? Looking through, I can't find this. I can find suretype but just the actual words. How do I switch?

Both if they're different. That way I know

There is no "open attachment" plus I've tried several types of files. .jpeg, .gif, word, excel, etc...

#4 is alt + scroll

and not sure about the attachment, ive only had that happen when it was an unsupported file type, i use beamberry to open some pdf's.

make sure you have blackberry attachment service listed under application in the advanced settings. other than that im not sure.

as for sure type, you might try in settings under screen/keyboard but i dont have pearl so not really sure.

Hmm - I know that from your post in the General thread and that you didn't specify your OS or keyboard, I don't know how to answer? See my tips site for docs on your device and that might have some answers.

when you are composing an email, click the menu button, scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see "Enable Multitap".

Edit: another way to do it is hold the * key for couple sec when composing messages.
