Default PASSWORD KEEPER - Data Stored Where?

Please Login to Remove!

Pearl owner

Newbie, first timer here. I searched first under password keeper and couldnt really find what I was looking for.

1. Where is the information that is placed into password keeper stored?

2. Can I force the data to be stored on my external memory card that is inside the unit?

3. We operate off of a BES in a hostile work environment where the employer looks at everything, so I need a secure and easily removable place that thsi data can be stored.

Thanks for the help.

It's all stored on the BB, not on the media card (impossible to store on the media card.) It also stores on the BES server as well. However, in the options for Password Keeper you can turn off wireless sync if you like. I've been told it is not possible for the BES admins to see any data in the Password Keeper database. Wireless sync is just a good automatic backup.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

What John says is true. The only way anyone can get into the password keeper is with the password you created. Even if someone retrieved a full backup of your device and retored the pasword keeper data to another device, they still need your password to get at the data. After 10 wrong attempts, the password keeper data is all erased. Its very secure.

OK, so if you wanted a good backup of something,,,,,that was going to be on the Password Keeper, how could a copy be downloaded somewhere for altrernate back up if I were to set the system to not sync with the BES?

Alternate question......can I put the data in word and store the word doc on my memory card inside the pearl? Can I password protect that doc as well?

Use the Backup function in the BlackBerry Desktop software to do a full backup of your BB. This will backup the PK data.
