Hi,

We have a particular report that we send to our employees every morning. The report is generated in Access, and then the data from the report is copied into the body of the email that goes out. We have been sending this thing out without problems for the last year. For some reason today, the report doesn't show up properly on our blackberrys. It is multiple users that have called in with the same problem, and I am noticing the same thing on mine. Basically, it now only shows some of the data , but it doesnt include most of whats copied into the initial email. It still shows up fine in my Outlook email account, with all the data coming through fine.

We do not use a Blackberry server. I spent alot of time during initial setup of this report to get the formatting to work on the bberrys.

Not sure what could have happened. We are Cingular, could it have something to do with the ATT switch thats happening? I've tried resending yesterdays report, and that came through with the same issues, even though it came through fine yesterday.

Very Confused. Any suggestions???

Edit: Just tried sending another report that we usually send out at night, and that one came through with the same problems.

I doubt that it has anything to do with Cingular becoming ATT. AFAIK, that was all eyewash and rebranding. Nothing changed technically.

Have you changed anything in your hardware, the network or the program which generates the report?

Thats just it, not a thing has changed on the network since yesterday. The reports are run the same way, and the text from those reports is copied into the email body the same way. For some reason, the formatting is lost on the bberrys, and all the text isnt showing up. Just some of it.

Is this sent to BIS or BES users? This may be related to the blank email body reported in another thread. I still have a case opened with RIM for this problem. I believe it has something to do with mail formatting in the BIS.

We are not using BES. All are sent to BIS. I wonder if its related to the problem you're having? Interesting.

To touch more on the issue, we copy the text from the report, paste into Outlook, and send email. The Outlook email is in Rich Text Format. If I send it in Plain Text format, it sends out with all the data. But, naturally, I lose all the nice formatting.

hmmm, seems to not only happen with our Cingular bberry people, but also the verizon ones.

Update for anyone that might care...

When I removed the bold and underlined formatting from the copied report data, the report shows up okay on the blackberrys. Not sure what would have caused this to happen all of a sudden. The reports sent out fine until today. Very interesting.

I have the exact same problem. Got an email today that showed up only partially on the Blackberry but looked perfectly OK on Outlook. Basically anything that's after an underlined word disappears, so I had a bunch of half-sentences in the email.

Seems BIS is having trouble parsing HTML / RTF emails. I've had a quite a few of these partial emails in the last few days, not only from Outlook but also from Yahoo & Hotmail. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a Blackberry in the first place.
