Default Swapping Phones

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a 7290, upgrading from 7230 and am patiently awaiting its arrival. What steps need to be taken in order to successfully get all my contacts and apps over to my new berry?

Will simply switching the SIM cards over work?
Do I need to call t-mobile?
Do I need to do a back-up and restore it to my new phone?

I know this has probably already been answered by I did do a search.

Thanks!!

I won't even bust your chops about the search....

Backup the old BB
Switch SIM cards
Log into BWC and change the PIN/IMEI number and resend service books
Restore the backup done in the first step

I've never called T-Mobile when I've swapped BBs.

Remember to wipe out the old BB when done.

You may have to contact vendors for registration codes since your BB has a new IMEI and that's what they normally base their security codes on.

But I'll leave my auto signature anyway

I'll bust your chops. I did a search on "swapping devices" and found this.
