Is there any way of setting this as a default or do I have to manually precede all e-mails I send with the <confirm> to receive the delivery reports?

also, i just sent a message from my 02 7230 and the <confirm> showed in my mozilla e-mail app. have not received a delivery report as yet

cheers,

litfoo

You could create an auto-text entry, which would at least save you the trouble of having to type the entire tag in each time.

Ok, the only way this works for me is if I'm on my desktop computer sending the <confirm> email - it doesn't work from my BB.

Does it only work if you send to a BB acct?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7290/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/1.1)

Apparently this only works when sent to a BlackBerry. I can't say about sending to an email address that syncs wirelessly through a BES, I don't have an email address for anyone using BES. Here are the results of my limited testing using BWC/BIS:

My BB to my BB.
Confirmation received,

Outlook @ work to my BB. Confirmation received,

My BB to Outlook @ work Confirmation not received.

Hope this helps.

Yes, makes sense, since this is delivery confirmation that a message was sent to a BlackBerry, makes sense if the message isn't sent to a BlackBerry, nothing would come back.

Good tip. I have added this tip to the Geek Tips section of "BlackBerry Tips, Tricks, and Keypress Shortcuts"
