Default Attachments Showing, Can't Open

Please Login to Remove!

I work at a small company in Seattle with about 20 employees. We currently use the Desktop Redirector to receive our e-mails. When I receive e-mails with attatchments, it shows me that their IS an attachment, I just don't have the option to open it. Does anyone know why this is? I also receive my Gmail account on my Blackberry, and attachments open just fine on it. What I usually end up doing is forwarding my work e-mail to my Gmail account to open the attachments. Is there a solution to this problem, this is the case with all of the employees here. Please advise, thank you in advance.

-Seth

When you open the mail on top its shows [1 attachment] click track wheel/pad and select open attachment. Then scroll to full content click wheel/pad and select retrieve

hope this helps

Crazydude,

That's the problem, it is not an option if the attachment is coming through my work account, only my Gmail account.

It shows that there is an attachment, but when clicking on it, there is no 'Open Attachment' option.

Any suggestions?

Greenhand, I've merged both of your posts to one thread, in the General area, for hopes of better response. Please don't double post questions in different sections as it confuses users.

Enjoy the board.

The Blackberry Desktop Redirector does not forward attachments. It just forwards the notification that the e-mail you just received has an attachment with it and that when you get back to your computer you will need to open it.

If you use BIS or BES to get your e-mails you will also get your attachments which is why you are getting attachments with your GMail.

Red face redirector

hey there.. there are a couple things you can do...first have you ever been able to open attachments? if so have you contacted your IT dep to see if there is a restriction on their end that allows you to open attachments..call the person who helped you set up the email. did you try to regenerate encryption keys? pull battery while the phone is on?
can you send attachments to others and are they able to open it? are you the only one in the company that is having this issue?
hope this helps ...if your IT dep can not fix it .. call your IT dep and then they have to call RIM

Default BB Attachment

Unfortunately if you are using “BlackBerry Desktop Redirector” you won’t be able to redirect attachments. You will need a BES box, if all 20 employees are using BB devices, its worth investing on a BES box.
